The Official Visit of the President of the International Federation of Beekeeping Associations Apimondia, Mr. Gilles Ratia, to Belarus.

The President of the International Federation of Beekeeping Associations Apimondia, Mr. Gilles Ratia, visited Belarus on 4-6 April 2013. The objective of the  visit of the President was to meeting beekeepers’ associations and discussing the important questions  in beekeeping in Belarus.

Belarusian beekeepers had a unique opportunity to get up-to-date information about problems and prospects of beekeeping development in the world.

Belarus became 122nd country visited by the President of the “Apimondia”, International Federation of Beekeepers’ Association, Gilles Ratia. “I am very interested in seeing the organization of Belarusian beekeeping. I will be glad if my visit will be useful for the beekeeping industry of Belarus”, – he said.

The purpose of the visit was to provide up-to-date information about the state, problems and prospects of world beekeeping, in general, and Belarusian beekeeping, in particular, as well as to discuss issues of bilateral cooperation.

The Program included:

  • On April 5, 2013  Mr. Ratia visited the Ministry of Agriculture, where he met with the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food and the beekeeping community.
  • On April 6, 2013 Gilles Ratia visited the Grodno State Agrarian University, where he talked with the university administration, public figures, beekeepers and held a practical presentation on the topic “Prospects for international beekeeping”.
  • After that, Mr. Ratia made a trip to the ApisAlba’s apiary in the Grodno region, where he was able to communicate with the beekeeper and give valuable comments.
  • Last but not least point of the President’s visit was a new enterprise in Porecye LLC  “ApisAlba”. The company was registered at the end of 2012 and started activity in February 2013.

LLC  “ApisAlba” produced natural honey , honey with pollen and propolis. They were the first in the country to launch whipped honey with dryed berries and  spies.

Mr. Ratia highly appreciated the company, gave valuable recommendations and wished a successful start and success in the future.

Gilles Ratia remained satisfied by his visit to Belarus and was positively impressed by Belarus hospitality.
